The Lego Movie SPOILER Thread, and More Legoland Pics

lukelegostandee.jpg

I promise there will be no spoilers in this post itself after the jump, but the comments will be a free-for-all, and if you plan on seeing the movie, I urge you NOT to read them – or any of the many reviews out there that cavalierly ruin some of the movies best secrets.

With that said, I have now seen it twice and liked it just as much the second time, so even if you do get spoiled, it isn’t the be-all, end-all.

Legoland could almost be subtitled “Baby’s First Theme Park.” Most of the rides are either “family coasters” – no inversions, nothing super-steep, perfect for motion-sickness weenies like me – and slow rides along tracks that take you past large Lego models. A good third of the park was closed due to all the press stuff, so this may not be fully representative.

Surprisingly, the city replica dioramas don’t use minifigs, but slightly larger characters made from individual, generic blocks.

Yes, there are costumed characters. I didn’t see a Unikitty, though.

Even the bathrooms are Lego-ish.

The most unique, cool thing they do here is that you can get on-ride photos printed on a wall of Lego. It comes pre-assembled (and with one minifig – the flag guy sitting at the bottom corner), but you can take it apart and make it a puzzle if you choose.

Some things, only Lego can do.
