Let’s Give Seth MacFarlane Some Credit

Bagging on Seth MacFarlane is pretty easy, no matter that you probably secretly watch the adventures of Peter Griffin all the time.

Who doesn’t love the anecdote that The Simpsons crew sent flowers to their South Park counterparts after the latter eviscerated Family Guy‘s non-sequitur style of humor? And apparently MacFarlane was a real ass of an Oscars host a few years back, according to people who enjoy watching Hollywood autofellate for four hours.

But the man is tossing his money at some quality programming. He’s been a huge supporter of Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, and word just came out yesterday that MacFarlane is donating up to a million bucks to LeVar Burton’s Reading Rainbow Kickstarter.
