If Sony can’t come to a deal with Marvel she could still be the Black Cat in a Spider-Man movie, but the Hollywood Reporter feels pretty certain that she’s nabbed the lead in the first Star Wars standalone film – a lead role everyone seemed sure was going to go to Tatiana Maslany.
A popular rumor has it that she’ll actually be playing an older version of Sabine from Rebels, but this rumor appears to come from the same source that says Michael Fassbender is wanted for Boba Fett, and that “Boba Fett” is a mantle rather than a family name – an egregious enough violation of onscreen canon (not to mention potentially offensive whitewashing) that I can’t believe Disney will go there. I chalk that one up to fanboy wankery for now.
