New Powerpuff Girls Are Revealed and Cast

The good news is that the drawings look pretty much the same. No weirdly stylized or inappropriately sexy remodeling here.

The bad news? Despite Tom Kenny returning as the narrator/mayor, the original voice actresses were never even asked to participate, and aren’t happy about it. Granted, this kind of thing happens a lot – there are certainly many DC animated Batmen who aren’t Kevin Conroy, for example – but what probably hurts most is that of the three new ladies, only Kristen Li is actually known for voice acting.

The new Powerpuff Girls launches on Cartoon Network next year. Will you be watching?
