Sometimes You Wanna Go Where Everybody Knows Your Game
This new PlayStation commercial has everyone’s attention, and rightly so. I love the idea of various videogame characters hanging out at a bar together, although of course I love the idea of bars in general. I also love that they got David Hayter, voice of Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid, to dress up like Old Man Snake from MGS4. Although I can’t shake the feeling that if my videogame characters got together and started drinking, they’d start bitching about me almost immediately. “So he just runs me up to the tank, right in the open, and the enemy starts shooting the shit out of me. Do I get to take cover? No. Do I retreat to heal? No. I just get riddled with bullets and die… and when I respawn, the asshole does the exact same thing to me again. Someone get another round.”Thanks to Jose C. and everyone else who sent this in.

About The Author
Robert Bricken is one of the original co-founders of the site formerly known as Topless Robot, and its first editor-in-chief, serving from 2008-12. He brought the site to prominence with “nerd news, humor and self-loathing” as its motto, raising it from total internet obscurity to a readership in the millions, with help from his savage “FAQ” movie reviews and Fan Fiction Fridays. Under his tenure Topless Robot was covered by Gawker, Wired, Defamer, New York magazine, ABC News, and others, and his articles have been praised by Roger Ebert, Avengers actor Clark Gregg, comedian and The Daily Show correspondent John Hodgman, the stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax, and others. He is currently the managing editor of io9.com. Despite decades as both an amateur and professional nerd, he continues to be completely unprepared for either the zombie apocalypse or the robot uprising.
