Jonah Hex Really Was Thomas Jane Playing Dress Up

Remember the above pic from Wednesday, of Thomas Jane all dolled up as DC’s butt-ugly Western anti-hero Jonah Hex? It turns out?and I can’t believe how as this is?it was just Jane being a huge fucking nerd. Comic Book Resources has a full explanation from Jane himself:

?Yeah, the pic is real all right ? my pal Akiva Goldsman told me about the project and I fell in love with the idea right away. Being a huge fan of all things Hex ? I just couldn?t help myself. I called up my buddy Chris Nelson and we spent a Saturday afternoon working up some make-up for this impromptu shoot and I fired a few pics off to Warners. How do people get a hold of this shit? It?s a little embarrassing seeing my fanboy enthusiasm spilled all over the web, but great scripts don?t come around too often, especially for characters I love.?

So Thomas Jane basically did superhero cosplay in hopes of convincing movie producers he hadn’t met into giving him the title role in the Jonah Hex movie. I can’t tell you how much respect I now have for Jane for 1) doing this, and 2) fessing up after being busted on the net. All your Punisher movie sins are forgiven, Mr. Jane?and you are now a true hero to nerds everywhere.
