Bandai Namco Has Some Nerve

All right, if you bought Soul Calibur IV on either the PS3 or Xbox 360, you’ve been staring at the empty slot on the character selection screen for months. On the PS3, it was next to Darth Vader, and on the 360, it was next to Yoda. If you had even the slightest synaptic activity in your cerebellum, you knew Bandai Namco was going to be adding the console exclusive Star Wars characters to the alternate consoles, despite their claims to the contrary. And then you waited. And waited.

Well, it’s finally happening?this Thursday, you can finally buy Vader or Yoda for either 400 MS points or $5, respectively. And I’m fucking furious. Why? Because Bandai Namco says the move was “due to overwhelming fan response” in their press release. Oh really? Then it’s super lucky you’ve had an empty character slot in your game since day 1, you fuckballs.

If Bandai Namco wasn’t lying about their blatant grab to make an extra $5 per game, I’d be fine. But if it was really fan demand, they wouldn’t have waited three damn months? I’ve been done with SC4 for months, and now you’re finally giving me the alternate SW character? Grr. Of course I’ll be buying it, because Vader is awesome and Yoda is an incredibly cheap bastard (in SC4). But man, I’ll be bitter about it. That’ll show ’em. (Via Kotaku)
