Have Yourself A Merry Timelord Christmas

Whovians depressed over David Tennant leaving Doctor Who after his final adventure, “The End of Time,” airs on BBC America over the course of the next two Saturdays can take solace in the fact that their favorite Timelord sends his best wishes for a pleasant Yuletide. The above promo is one of a series of BBC idents featuring Tennant in character discussing the holidays and romping with reindeer. (Others can be viewed here and here). These fun spots are probably the last chance you’ll have to see the Scottish actor’s Doc enjoying himself, what with the return of The Master, the “he will knock four times” prophecy and his impending regeneration into pretty boy Matt Smith hanging over his head and all.

As for Tennant’s post-Who plans, he is currently busy shooting the NBC comedy pilot Rex Is Not Your Lawyer with Jeffrey Tambor, Jane Curtin and Jerry O’Connell (taking on a role that was originally to be played by Heroes‘ Sendhil Ramamurthy, an actor whose name causes my spellcheck to have seizures). No word yet on how long before the network decides to suddenly stop supporting the show after weeks of over promoting it. (*cough* Journeyman *cough*).
