Mephisto Is Apparently in Charge of the Spider-Man Movie Reboot

?Why? Because the word is that Mary Jane will not be appearing in the movie. There will be a love interested for Peter Parker, of course, because a superhero with wallcrawling and webslinging powers can’t possibly be entertaining enough to carry a movie on his own, but it will not be Mary Jane. Odds are the girl will be Gwen Stacy, which I think is very likely and potentially cool; having Spidey’s girlfriend bite it in the first reboot movie would certainly set a new tone — although I don’t think we can rule out Black Cat or a new character entirely. Honestly, I don’t mind the lack of MJ; I actually appreciate that this reboot will be at least somewhat different from Raimi’s versions. What do you guys think? (Via the AV Club)
