? Spartacus: Blood and Sand The Complete First Season
I didn’t realize when I posted the sad news about Andy Whitfield yesterday that Spartacus was coming out on DVD today. So for my extended thoughts on the show, go there. For the short version: if you like tits and violence — and copious amounts of both — watch Spartacus: Blood and Sand. It’s not going to be ranked among TV’s finest shows, but man, is it massively entertaining. Also, Xena appears nude. A lot.

? Gladiator 2 Robin Hood
Whatever.

? Castle: The Complete Second Season
There’s a lot of great but non-nerdy shows coming out today. This is the only one that stars nerd/legend Nathan Fillion, though.

? Community: The Complete First Season
This might seem a non-nerdy show, seeing as it’s a Thursday night NBC sitcom, but let me assure you that it is so, so nerdy. You can’t watch the Halloween episode or the paintball episode and believe otherwise. It also helps that Community is currently funnier than The Office or 30 Rock

? Human Target: The Complete First Season
The show very tangentially based on the Vertigo comic series. I always meant to watch it, but I never, ever remembered when or if it was on. Whether that’s my fault, Fox’s or the show’s I have no idea.

? Being Human: Season 2
As I’ve said before, I’ve seen one episode of BBC’s Being Human series and it was marvelous — dark, funny, and somehow able to keep the goofy concept )a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost share an apartment) compelling and not silly. I have no idea how season two stacks up, but it’s on my Netflix queue (after season one).

? The Secret of Moonacre
I don’t know what the fuck this is except it’s based on J.K. Rowling’s “favorite childhood book” and stars Tim Curry, probably as an evil wizard or something. No, I don’t know, but it’s Tim Curry. The odds are in my favor.

? Gamera Double Features
A two-pack of Gamera Vs. Gyaos and Viras, as well as Vs. Guiron and Jiger. The Gyaos and Guiron movies both made it to MST3K. I can’t imagine the agony of watching either of them with commentary from the ‘Bots.
