TR Contest: ’80s Cartoon Haiku

80s_cartoons.jpg

?It’s Labor Day weekend. In keeping with the Topless Robot tradition that I started only a year ago, I’m going to take Monday off and not deal with you knuckleheads. In return, I like to have an insane contest all weekend that people can enter as many times as they like, that takes me far more time to judge than I had off, and absolutely ruins any relaxation I might have inadvertently received.

Last year it was Star Wars haiku; this year? Write a haiku about ANY CARTOON FROM THE ’80s. He-Man. Transformers. G.I. Joe. Thundercats. My Little Pony. Silverhawks. Dungeons & Dragons. She-Ra. Whatever. If it was a cartoon that aired in the ’80s, you can write a haiku about it. Hell, you can even write a haiku about watching the cartoons and the Saturday mornings of yore, if you want. Some other important points:

? Everyone can enter as many times as they want.
? If you don’t want to do haiku, you can enter a limerick. It better rhyme, though.
? The contest will be open from now until 12:01 am EST on Tuesday, September the 7th — so you can keep entering on Monday, too.

If there’s a way to make more work for myself, I don’t know what it is. I’ve never quite broken the 1,000 comment mark, but I have some hopes for this one; if I do, I’ll give away some extra shirts. Deal? At any rate, have a great weekend, see you guys Tuesday morning, and if anyone asks you if you want to play a game with your peehole, please, just say no.
