DVD Day: November 16th, 2010
? Avatar: Three-Disc Extended Collector’s Edition
More glowy shit. Fuck this movie.
?? The Last Airbender
You’ll
notice it’s a particularly light DVD Day today, and you have to know
that I’m not really interested in promoting Avatar or M. Night
Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender debacle on DVD. Indeed, the only reason I ran DVD Day today was so I could tell you The Last Airbender Rifftrax should be available later today for $4 right here. It should be the only way you watch The Last Airbender; it’s definitely the only way I’m going to watch it. Also, I’ll be drunk. But you probably assumed that.
? The Complete Metropolis
The original Metropolis was 153 minutes; this edition incorporates all the recently footage footage into the most complete version of the movie available, at 147 minutes. Best of all, it has the original score. Probably a must for sci-fi movie buffs.
? Ancient Aliens: Season One
The fact that there was an entire series based on exploring the premise of aliens in ancient times disturbs me, but the fact that there’s going to be a second season of the show depresses me to no end.
? Lego Hero Factory: Rise of the Rookies
One of those direct-to-DVD Lego movies, based on the line they started after Bionicle. Anyone have anything to add?
? Heroes: The Complete Series
I am utterly delighted to tell you that when I published this article, the complete Heroes set was ranked 94th in DVDs being released today. DVDs that are currently selling better than Heroes: The Complete Series:
? The Bee Gees: In Our Own Time (#38)
? Advent and Christmas in Old Germany (#57)
? Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Numbers Round-Up (#83)
? Opposite Day, starring French Stewart and Pauly Shore (#91)
So delicious.
