JMS Grounded from “Superman: Grounded”

?Get it? Get it? Enh, it was all I got. DC announced that J. Michael Straczynski is quitting both Superman, where he’s been writing the not-at-all popular “Superman walks across America” arc, and Wonder Woman, where she’s wearing a jacket and grew up in America, which was big news since it featured Wondie’s redesign and I don’t remember anybody talking about since. DC says it’s so Straczynski can focus on writing the sequel to the Superman: Earth One graphic novel, which we’ve previously discussed, and JMS says it’s part of a planned 1-5 year sabbatical from writing monthly comics for him.

…yeah. I’m sure this was planned, with JMS telling DC he’d be happy to write Superman and Wonder Woman although he could quit at any time, for up to five years, and DC being okay with that. Yeah, that makes sense. Oh well. At least this hopefully means Superman will stop moping for a bit (it’s probably too much to ask for him to kick some ass for a whiile) and I guess yet another poor soul will take on the thankless, seemingly impossible task of making Wonder Woman interesting. Oh well. (Via DC’s Source)
