?Ten days before the live-action Green Lantern movie hits on June 17th, one of DC’s usually great straight-to-DVD animated movies will come out. Titled Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, apparently it’ll be a collection of shorter cartoons, each featuring different Green Lanterns and their adventures. However, in what will almost assuredly be the main one, Hal Jordan will be voiced by Nathan Fillion, an admitted Green Lantern fans; he’ll be mentoring Arisia, voiced by Mad Men’s Elizabeth Moss. This is extremely awesome.
DC hasn’t revealed the other segments yet, but TV Guide says other voices will be provided by Jason Isaacs, Kelly Hu, Henry Rollins, and… wait for it… Rowdy Roddy Piper. I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but I can’t imagine anyone Rowdy Roddy would voice other than Guy Gardner. That would be so fucking awesome that the quality of the live-action Green Lantern flick would be totally inconsequential. I’m officially more excited for six minutes of a Rowdy Roddy Piper-voiced Guy Gardner cartoon than any other movie this year. Thanks to Shawn for the tip.
