The New Smurfs Trailer Is Suitably Smurfed Up
Good morning Topless Roboteers! Rob is off today, so I’ll be handling your posting needs (don’t worry though, he left you a doozy of a Fan Fiction Friday story that will be going up this afternoon). Speaking of FFF, above is the new trailer for The Smurfs in which Smurfette is unsurprisingly portrayed as a flirty sexpot. I can only imagine the types of perverted Internet tales that this characterization will inspire. It’s also interesting that the filmmakers decided to go with a The Seven Year Itch homage featuring Smurfette — further confirming my suspicions that she is destined for an (alleged) presidential affair and subsequent pill overdose. As for the rest of the trailer, it looks like the harmless Alvin and the Chipmunks-eque blockbuster we all suspected and/or feared it would be.
But Hank Azaria as Gargamel is still absolutely terrifying. I think I just smurfed in my mouth indeed. (Via Pop Candy)
