E3 Trifecta: Star Trek, WiiU, Assassin’s Creed Revelations

? Last E3 Trifecta, probably. This new Star Trek game looks pretty good. That’s possibly because it looks EXACTLY like Mass Effect, but I’m okay with that. If you’re going to rip something off, might as well do it from the best. Still, the sight of Spock throwing a grenade is deeply weird.

? Here is a demonstration of some of the amazing things the WiiU and its new controller can do, as shown through Legend of Zelda. Rather than get in yet another fracas with the Nintendo Power Posse, I’d like to ask a question: Are you really excited by anything in the above video, and if so, what? I genuinely want to know. See, I can only look at one screen at a time, so if I want to see my hearts or map or inventory on the controller, I’m probably going to have to pause the game anyways or else the goddamn spider will kick my ass. I’d just as soon have all the info on the same screen, frankly. But I’m old and bitter and hate obviously videogames, so maybe it’s just me.

? And here’s the trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, in which Ezio appears to have yet another bad day. I’m embarrassed by how much I enjoy Assassin’s Creed‘s outrageously goofy story, so I imagine I’ll be playing this eventually (as soon as someone donates a copy of Brotherhood to me, I guess).
