?It sucks that I couldn’t run this contest last week when the Captain America movie premiered, but the weekend was overtaken by SDCC. The by-all-accounts awesome Captain America movie deserves a contest that stays on the front page all weekend — as does 80sTees.com, who have been awesome enough to give away one of their Captain America tees to three winners! First thing you do, is go check out their Captain America t-shirts (no hoodies or other things, of course), then come back here for the contest.

Ready? This is a little weird, but I think you guys will get it: come up with Captain America’s other adventures… the ones not mentioned in the comics. Think of it like the “Further Cases of Sherlock Holmes” contest, but with classic Captain America comic stories instead. For example:

? “Apple Pie for Goering!”
When Reichsmarshall Goering plans to release a new toxic nerve gas over the Allies, Cap realizes the antidote is his mom’s apple pie recipe!

? “Bucky Gets Lucky!”
On leave in reclaimed Italy, Cap takes Bucky to meet the alluring Madame Gabriella and her “daughters,” who will change his life forever!

? “Churchill’s Gin Is Missing!”
Can Cap find the shipment of Churchill’s favorite booze before his sobriety dooms the entire Allied operation?!

It’s not my best work, but you get the idea (the Tutenstein FFF was nearly 4,000 words long; cut me some slack). I’m thinking mostly ’40s stories, but if you want to set these tales of Cap’s derring-do in the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s or ’80s, that’s fine too (just not the ’00s, that would be silly). You don’t have to include story summaries, but I imagine they’ll help — just keep ’em brief. Three entries per person, and the contest ends at 12:01 am EST on Monday, August 1st. Thanks again to 80s Tees for sponsoring this week’s contest — make sure you check out those Captain America tees, and their other fine wares! Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you little patriots on Monday.
