A Peek Underneath the Iron Throne
What would you expect to find under the Iron Throne? A forgotten knife, a few coppers, maybe a small pool of blood, or some gum? Here’s what you wouldn’t find — a shit-ton of winter landscapes, massive castles, teeming lakes and giant horse statues, because those were all special effects added in post-production, as documented in this awesome Game of Thrones SFX reel. I knew most of the backgrounds and such were fake when watching the show, but it’s another thing entirely to see how much wasn’t actually there — and how they did it. Pretty cool. (Via Warming Glow)
