?Apple CEO Steve Jobs resigned yesterday. Now, this isn’t a post about Apple computers (although being a Mac guy myself, I’ll be content never touching a PC again for the rest of my life) because that’s always a matter of personal preference. And he seems like he’s probably a jerk to work for. But by bringing out the iPhone and iPad, Jobs has done more to nerdify our world and our lives than just about anyone. Hell, you might prefer other touch-screen cellphones and tablets, and I wouldn’t begrudge it of you. But his products revolutionized both markets, and whatever phone or tablet you use, you’re doing cool shit on it, easily, specifically because of Jobs. Hell, he’s even somewhat responsible for Pixar’s massive success. Look, no matter what you feel about him or his products, he’s a man who changed our world for the better and the nerdier, and for that he deserves our gratitude. Thanks, Steve. I’ll set all my Apple products to half brightness today in your honor.
