?From Deadline:

AMC is launching Talking Dead, the network’s first live after-show that will discuss AMC’s series The Walking Dead.
The half-hour program, produced by Michael Davies’ Embassy Row and
hosted by Chris Hardwick, will premiere Oct. 16, immediately following
the encore presentation of The Walking Dead. Then beginning on Friday, Nov. 4, the series premieres after The Walking Dead‘s encore presentation at 11 PM. The project was originally piloted last month. “Fans of The Walking Dead are incredibly engaged with every aspect of the show. They tweet, blog, and post comments in very large numbers,
and we wanted to give them an opportunity to interact with the show in
a way that they don’t currently have — a kind of live water cooler,”
said Joel Stillerman, AMC’s SVP original programming, production and
digital content.

Talking Dead will feature Hardwick talking to fans, actors, producers and TV enthusiasts, recapping the most recent Dead episode and taking questions and comments from viewers.

Does this sound absolutely awful to anyone else? First of all, most of Walking Dead’s first season wasn’t so good that I would have wanted to watch a 30-minute post-game show about it anyways. Second, the show has only had six fucking episodes — there hasn’t been a lot of world-building yet, so I have no idea what the fuck people are going to talk about, because they can’t talk about the goddamned comic without spoiling shit. But most of all, why is AMC  going to spend money on this bullshit when they’re decreasing Walking Dead‘s budget to the point where Frank Darabont got so angry they fired him? Holy fuck, that’s an actual act of evil. Hey, maybe that’s what’s Hardwick can talk about each week — how much shittier the show’s gotten since the budget was cut and Darabont was fired.
