The War for Cybertron Enlists Some New Combatants

Transformers: War for Cybertron was a mediocre videogame, but a pretty good Transformers game. Your enjoyment of playing the game mostly depended on how much you like Transformers, because it was a so-so third-person shooter, but a so-so third-person shooter with tons of accuracy to TF lore and fangasm moments.

Anyways, War for Cybertron 2 was announced a few days ago — with the title Fall of Cybertron — and I didn’t report it because it was basically just that, an announcement with no details or art or anything. Happily, that has changed, as some enterprising young nerd put a couple of the Game Informer pics of the game in the above video. Note Optimus Prime’s new design, which is still modern and streamlined yet instantly recognizable as Optimus Prime. Also note: FUCKING GRIMLOCK.

But that’s not all! Because Kotaku has confirmed that actual combiners will be in the game, including at a minimum the Combaticons and Bruticus… who seems to be a playable character, too. Now, first off, I’m going to guess the Autobots will have a playable combiner as well, as TF:WfC was very fair like that. Second, the gameplay can be pretty fucking mediocre, but if it includes me smashing Autobots as Bruticus that instantly makes it awesome by default. Just sayin’.
