A Brief Moment of Topless Robot Self-Pleasure

Two things:

?1) There’s a play currently running in Chicago called All Childish Things, written by Joseph Zettalmaier. The synopsis is as follows:

If you still treasure your vintage AT-AT, All Childish Things
is the play for you. The story follows three childhood friends and an
outsider girlfriend as they prepare to swipe a load of fandom
merchandise. Dave has come up with the plan, Carter’s got a way in, Max
has figured a way out and Kendra has the inside connection. When the
heist goes wrong, lives are threatened, secrets are revealed and the
ultimate temptation threatens to tear these friends apart forever.
Equally accessible to audiences whose familiarity with Star Wars is limited, this terrific play is as touching as it is funny.

The play is obviously nerdy, but the real reason I’m mentioning it is because one of the characters, Dave (played by Nathan Pease), wears a Topless Robot t-shirt the entire time, which is totally awesome. He’s even wearing it in the promotional pic above, which delights me to no end. The play opens this Saturday, November 12, at the Greenhouse Theater Center in Chicago and will run through December 17th. For more info and tickets, head here.

2) Some of you might recall I was interviewed by the rather manic Brandon Wetherbee for his acclaimed You, Me, Them, Everybody podcast last Friday; that podcast is now available for your listening pleasure. There’s also a comedian on after me named Abe Barth who’s hilarious and infinitely funnier than I am. I kind of hate him, but I can’t deny he’s well worth downloading the podcast for on his own. Also, Wetherbee asked exactly none of the normal questions I usually get — like where the site name comes from — so it’s not my normal spiel. Just sayin’.
