Tim Schafer Is Having Another Good Day

Speaking of old-school adventure games, Tim Schafer — who was recently contracted by the creator Minecraft to make a sequel to his beloved Xbox game Psychonauts — seems to be having a bit of good luck. He recently started a project on Kickstarter for his game company Double Fine with the intention of making an old-school adventure game like Schafer’s beloved PC games Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango.

He posted the Kickstarter yesterday, setting a goal of $400,000.

Today he’s at $545,000.

Wow. You can still donate — there’s a pretty cool tier of prizes for big sums — but even if you don’t, Schafer and his company are going to make an old-school adventure game. That is what I would call good news. Thanks to everybody who sent in the tip.
