Why, Tim Burton, Why
So Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows movie is going to be a comedy, apparently. Did we know that? I don’t think we did. I don’t know how many hardcore Dark Shadows fans there are out there, but I imagine they’re crushed to discover that the big-budget movie of their beloved supernatural soap opera appears to be Austin Powers, except set in the ’70s and with a vampire. Although I do appreciate the restraint Burton showed in only running “Bang a Gong” and Barry White in the trailer — it must have killed him not to put “Play That Funky Music (White Boy)” in there. But then, he needs to save a little magic for the movie proper.
