Anime News Trifecta: Lupin the 3rd, Berserk, One Piece
? That awesome new Lupin the 3rd series? Funimation has the license. They say they’ll be simulcasting it, which is nice, if somewhat confusing, since the first episode has already aired in Japan. I assume someone posting it on YouTube (WARNING: it’s chock full of animated toplessness) doesn’t count. (Via Anime News Network)
? Those new Berserk movies? Viz snagged ’em. The first one is theoretically coming to the U.S. this fall. (Via Japanator)
? The Japanese life insurance company Nihon Seimei has begun airing the above commercial, in which One Piece is mentioned and life insurance is somehow shilled. The translation, via ANN:
“Dear Luffy-sama. Don’t look back, don’t be limited by common sense, don’t stop at any barriers, and move towards a future with eyes set on our dreams — that’s what you taught us. A future that only we can make for ourselves… Nihon Seimei.”
I was all set to be infuriated, but since the commercial isn’t Nami trying to explain the benefits of a good life insurance policy to Luffy and Zoro, I’ll let it slide.
