? Doctor Who: Series Seven, Part One
Say
adieu to Amy and Rory with this collection that features the episodes
“Asylum of the Daleks,” “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship,” the Western-themed
“A Town Called Mercy” (which shouldn’t be confused with The Jam’s
seminal post-punk tune “A Town Called Malice”), that cube thingy
installment “The Power of Three” and the Weeping Angel-tastic “The
Angels Take Manhattan.” This set should tide you over until the Christmas
episode.

? Brave
Pixar’s latest comes to DVD and Blu-ray in a variety of configurations, including an epic five-disc version that includes a Blu-ray, a Blu-ray 3D, a standard definition DVD and a digital copy. You know what Brave has? Heart. It has more heart that a crazed serial killer with a penchant for abducting cardiac patients. Yet it still won’t make you cry as much as Wall-E or Toy Story 3 or Up. Weird, that.

? Pixar Short Films Collection, Volume 2
This collection of 12 shorts from Pixar includes the fan favorites Burn-E, Small Fry (which played theatrically with The Muppets) and the Academy Award-nominated La Luna, as well as bonus student films from Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton and John Lasseter.

? The Watch
This is here primarily because I feel obliged to support everything involving Richard Ayode (The IT Crowd, Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace) and also because it features aliens. And yes, I still find thin Jonah Hill oddly unnerving.

? Watchmen: Collector’s Edition
This Blu-ray set features the mega edit of the film that has all the Tales of the Black Freighter and director’s cut stuff thrown in plus a copy of the graphic novel, which is weird seeing how anyone who would actually want this probably has that already. While we are on the topic of the Watchmen flick, you all should check out this interview with Zack Synder from the Los Angeles Times’ Hero Complex blog in which the director talks about this Blu-ray and the film’s legacy as the “anti-Avengers.”

? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Complete Classic Series Collection
The entire original cartoon series packaged in a nifty replica of the Turtles’ van. Cowabunga and dude.

? Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure
SAN DIMAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES!

? Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated: Season 2, Part 1: Danger in the Deep
A collection of the first 13 episodes from the second season that includes the downright amazing sounding “Wrath of the Krampus.” I hear nothing but good things about this show, but have yet to catch an episode. Can any of you Topless Roboteers attest to its greatness?

? Doctor Who: The Claws of Axos (Special Edition)
A Jon Pertwee classic that also features a fun performance from Roger Delgado as The Master.

? Marvel Knights: Astonishing X-Men: Unstoppable
The latest Marvel motion comic based on Joss Whedon and John Cassaday’s Astonishing X-Men issues 19 to 24 and the first issue of Giant Size Astonishing X-Men. The other volumes of these have been tremendous, so I see no reason while this won’t be as well.

? Marvel Knights: Astonishing X-Men Blu-ray Box
Includes the motion comics based on the Astonishing X-Men story arcs “Gifted,” “Dangerous,” “Torn” and Unstoppable, as well as an interview with Joe Quesada and Neal Adams, a Marvel Knights featurette and a music video. The video probably won’t be from Dazzler, and it’s unnerving how depressed this makes me.

? Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?: The Complete Series
Another complete series set, this one comes packaged in a cardboard replica of the Mystery Machine. Your shelves are going to hate you.

? Company
Ever want to see Stephen Colbert and Neil Patrick Harris sing Sondheim? Here’s your chance. The stellar cast also includes a former Goonie (Martha Pimpton), Joan Holloway (Christina Hendricks), Duckie (Jon Cryer) and Dave Lister from the failed U.S. remake of Red Dwarf (Craig Bierko).

? Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes
Look, you’d be hard-pressed to find a bigger Sasquatchploitation fan than myself and even I never heard of this one. Wait, Lance Henriksen isn’t in this? Pass.

? The Definitive Document of the Dead
This updated and re-edited version of Roy Frumkes’ 1978 documentary includes everything you ever wanted to know about George Romero’s zombie epics and then some. I’m looking forward to this one. BRAINNNS!
