How Deep is Your Love of Art? The Underwater Gallery

andreasfranke1.jpg

Andreas Franke likes to composite photos of underwater scenery with images shot in-studio to create haunting, ghost-like images of a lost realm. That in itself is pretty cool, while not, perhaps, being enough to normally merit it a mention here.

It’s the way he shows them off that merits consideration for an Impressive Act of Nerdery: the photos are exhibited on sunken ships, and you have to scuba dive in order to view them. Part of the final product is the algae and water-weathering that builds up on the pictures, giving them a unique finish.

If I had to guess, I’d say this guy’s plan for striking it rich is to catch James Cameron’s eye and persuade him to buy it all. Video of one of the exhibits after the jump.
