See Aubrey Plaza as Daria in a Movie I Wish Were Real



Like Shelley Duvall as Olive Oyl, this is the role she was born to play. But everyone else in it is pretty spot-on perfect too, as is the writing. Daria is one of those shows that I think works even better as a ’90s snapshot than it did as contemporary commentary at the time, so the class reunion device is also exactly right as a way to do it.

C’mon, MTV and Paramount – make this happen for real. I’m serious. Let Zach Braff Kickstarter it if you have to. He’ll pick all the bands you’re hyping right now for the soundtrack.
