Terrible Things: Meow Mix’s Borderline-Beastiality Country Music Video

You all know the Meow Mix jingle, right? “Meow meow meow meow, meow meow meow meow, meow meow meow meow MEOW meow meow meow.” How can you not?

What does it make you think of?

Country artist J.R. Moore decided to make it a guitar riff, which is a bad enough idea. But then there’s the song…and the music video. The gist of which is that after a hard day of work, a man comes home and just wants a candlelit dinner date.

With his cat.

“A quiet night at home, a dinner for two, the phone keeps ringing but we’re not moving, here kitty kitty, yeah that’s right, we ‘re gonna Meow Mix it up tonight”

It’d be one thing if that were a clever double entendre, but the video and the corporate sponsorship makes it clear that, no, he is in fact referring to a cat.

By the end, Moore is actually singing aloud, with no shame, “Meow meow meow meow!” If you watch it, you won’t forget it. That’s a warning.

I guess country music is more socially tolerant than I remember.
