David Tennant to Play Kilgrave (Purple Man) in Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones

The Babadook is on his head

I was going to do a post about how David Tennant’s plastic sculpted hair is going to come to life and eat you, but then this happens. And boy, is this going to be interesting in how they handle things. Kilgrave isn’t being referred to in press releases as the Purple Man, but he is in the comics – a villain with the super-ability to force people to do whatever he wants. And at one point he kept Jessica Jones captive for 8 months and things got kinda rapey.

So, um, this is definitely a different role than the Doctor. And is going to lead into some really interesting discussions as to how far Marvel will push PG-13 to be comics-accurate.
