Did you know Stan Lee loves making cameos? Or that Kevin Smith likes to appear in his own movies?
I doubt you did. Such things are well-kept secrets, on a par with Soylent Green being people and M. Night Shyamalan being a has-been. This new Audi commercial, however – directed by Smith – blows the lid off Lee’s secret conspiracy to hand down his cameo pointers to the next generation (if Tara Reid still counts as “next generation” by this point).
Perhaps it’s irony, but one thing the video fails to mention is that a cameo should be recognizable – and the Audi, ostensibly the focus of the ad, goes almost completely incognito. Or maybe I just blocked it from my mind, somehow, as people do.
