Power Up From BOOM! Studios Coming July 22

BOOM! Studios announced a July 22 release date for the new series Power Up from Kate Leth and Matt Cummings, two Adventure Time comics veterans. Head on past the jump for more, but here’s a sneak peek: it looks pretty cool.
BOOM’s announcement describes the series thusly
It has been foretold that four noble warriors of incredible strength would be gifted with cosmic abilities at a moment of planetary alignment…which, yeah, something definitely went a little weird here. Amie is a disaffected twenty-something with a lot on her plate, Kevin is a washed-up athlete way past his prime, Sandy’s a mother of two teenagers, and Silas…is a goldfish. Just a normal goldfish. Are we sure we read that prophecy right?
The series is being described as (to loosely paraphrase) “Scott Pilgrim if its nerd baseline was Sailor Moon instead of 8-bit JRPGS,” and that’s pretty much all you needed to sell me on it. The Mary Sue had some character sheets back when it was first announced, and we’ve got a few variant covers down below. What do you think?
