SDCC 2015: The Force Awakens Behind The Scenes Footage

The Hall H panel for The Force Awakens just wrapped with everyone getting a free ticket to a Star Wars concert, and while there wasn’t a new trailer or a ton of new footage, they did have some cool stuff to show. Like the behind the scenes reel that made things get a little dusty in Stately Dandy Manor. They also confirmed character names for Adam Driver and Domhnall Gleeson, and brought out Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. Join me after the jump for that footage.

Here’s the video. As the actors walked out on stage, images with their characters were tossed up on the screen behind them – Kylo Ren for Driver, Captain Phasma for Gwendoline Christie, and General Hux for Gleeson. No word yet on who would play his Chief of Staff, Lieutenant Quay Lude. Gleeson confirmed that he’s not a good guy when asked about his character.

Not much else was revealed at this panel – the emphasis was mostly on how great the practical effects were and the nostalgia factor for the original characters coming back (and, judging by the fan reaction, the nostalgia factor on the room at seeing Han, Leia and Luke on stage together).
