First the good news: Really. this is really happening. Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney will be a Nintendo 3DS game, where you’ll be solving a crime by finding evidence and solving puzzles in a miz of both games (honestly, I’m not sure how accurate the “versus” part of the title is, but whatever). The bad news — Level 5 and Capcom swear the game will be Japan only. Obviously, they can change their minds, but I don’t know what they’d get out of announcing the game would only be released in Japan if it wasn’t true. So this trailer might be as close as we get. Why is Level 5 and Capcom taunting us with this amazing shit we can’t have? There’s a puzzle/crime worth solving. Thanks to Lyon for the tip.

He brought the site to prominence with “nerd news, humor and self-loathing” as its motto, raising it from total internet obscurity to a readership in the millions, with help from his savage “FAQ” movie reviews and Fan Fiction Fridays. Under his tenure Topless Robot was covered by Gawker, Wired, Defamer, New York magazine, ABC News, and others, and his articles have been praised by Roger Ebert, Avengers actor Clark Gregg, comedian and The Daily Show correspondent John Hodgman, the stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax, and others. He is currently the managing editor of io9.com. Despite decades as both an amateur and professional nerd, he continues to be completely unprepared for either the zombie apocalypse or the robot uprising.
