Ed Norton Is No Longer the Hulk, But Is Very Angry

?Which kind of sucks for him because being angry would probably make playing the Hulk significantly easier. Unfortunately, Norton is angry because he’s been shitcanned as the Hulk in the upcoming Avengers movie.

Marvel Entertainment President Kevin Feige broke the news this weekend, alongside two shockingly bitchy comments:
? ” Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but
instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and
collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members.”
? “The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble,
as evidenced by Robert, Chris H, Chris E, Sam, Scarlett, and all of our
talented casts.”

We all heard the rumors that Norton was very difficult to deal with during The Incredible Hulk, especially during the editing phase, but c’mon — you can’t knock Ed Norton for his acting chops. And maybe he didn’t want to do a glorified cameo in the Avengers movie, but that hardly qualifies him as not being a team player. Eventually, Norton’s agent fired back: “”This offensive statement from Kevin Feige at Marvel is a purposefully
misleading, inappropriate attempt to paint our client in a negative
light.”

Obviously, none of us know the real circumstances between Marvel and Norton during Hulk, but apparently Norton met with Whedon a little while ago and Norton was very much on board for Avengers — and Marvel was negotiating with him up until last week. Even if Norton was being a massive bitch before, during and after Hulk, I’m having a hard time envisioning how awful he could have possibly been to get called out like that. Hell, even if he deserved it and more, Feige’s comments just seem really unprofessional. And believe me, I know unprofessionalism. (Via Hitflix, Spinoff Online)
