Now the American Akira Doesn’t Have a Director, Either

?From Deadline:

The twists and turns on the Warner Bros adaptation of anime artist Katsuhiro Otomo’s graphic novel Akira continue.
Director Albert Hughes is exiting the movie, I’m told. Insiders say
that it is an amicable creative differences parting of the ways. [sic]

You know, my immediate reaction was relief, followed by glee, but that slowly turned into doubt and then pure terror. You know what happens when action movies lose directors and the studio just wants to crap ’em out fast? They hire Brett Ratner, that’s what they do. No one let your guard down yet.
