The PSVita Will Revolutionize the Way You Do Almost Nothing

The other big announcement of E3, I suppose, it that Sony unveiled the successor to the PSP. It’s called the PSVita, has a big touchscreen on the front, a touchscreen on the back for some reason, two analog sticks, and even comes 3G capable (although only through AT&T, ha), so maybe it’s a mystery why I’m so bored to tears by it. Like the PSP, the game library seems to be almost entirely ports and games that feel like they’re ports, even if they’re not, so why anyone would spend $300 on this (the non-3G version is $250) instead of getting a PS3, which effectively comes with a free Blu-ray player, is beyond me.

So just to make sure we’re on the same page here, but I think Sony’s guilty of the same shit that Nintendo’s doing with the WiiU, which is just doing the same damned thing as each company did last time. The Vita is a shinier PSP; the WiiU is a Wii with a newer doohickey. None of the problems with the game libraries have been addressed. So, Nintendo Power Posse, when you come to beat me to death with your WiiMotes, I do hope you’ll at least admit I was consistent.
