Even Satan Thinks This Might Be Going Too Far

?Yesterday the Hollywood Reporter reported that Hasbro was in negotiations with Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay for a fourth Transformers movie. Today, Variety has something to add:

After “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” hauled in more than $1 billion at
the global box office, Hasbro is eager to keep its toy-trafficking
franchise rolling on the bigscreen — to the degree that plans are
being considered to shoot the fourth and fifth installments
back-to-back.

Hasbro chief Brian Goldner said during a Monday
third-quarter earnings call that the toymaker is in “active discussions”
with Paramount, Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg on how to move
forward. Sources close to the planning process tell Variety two films
could be headed into production.

Variety also adds that Michael Bay is almost totally up for directing the films, as long as he gets to make another non-TF movie first (which Hasbro is almost certainly fine with). Also, Shia the Beef is not returning, and Jason Statham is being eyed as the new lead. I think the Statham bit might be wishful thinking, although since his girlfriend/Real Doll Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was part of TF3, there could be a bridge between the two films. Not that Bay would possibly give a shit about trying to establish some kind of continuity in… anything, really.

So, yeah. Two more Bayformers movies. Please excuse me while I make a full body cast of myself with C4.
