A Tale of Two Rumors: Doctor Who and TMNT

The Fourth Doctor apparently has an appointment with the Eleventh Doctor. The Daily Express — which I don’t know how trustworthy it is, but with a name that banal I admit I have my doubts (UK readers, please elucidate me) — says that insiders have told them that Tom Baker will be reprising his role as Doctor #4 in the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special. This seems reasonable to me; obviously showrunner Steven Moffat will want to do something big for Who‘s 50th, Baker is the most beloved Doctor from the early era, and Baker seems pro-Who and game for whatever. I just hope they can keep him from looking his 73 years of age. (Via Blastr)

The other rumors making its way across the nerdernets today is that Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady will be in Michael Bay’s TMNT movie. You know, the one that was just shut down, everyone fired and had the script jettisoned less than a month ago. That hasn’t been reported to be starting up again. And which probably doesn’t have a script at all. The rumor comes from Latino Review, which does not have the best track record with these things. Frankly, if you need to believe one of the rumors, go with the Who one.
