? Muppeteer Jerry Nelson passed away yesterday at the age of 88. He never got the fame that Jim Hensen and Frank Oz did, but he was working Muppets in six different decades, which is amazing. He did hundreds of one-shot characters, but also played Statler, Count Von Count, Lew Zealand, Crazy Harry, Floyd, Snuffleupagus, Kermit’s nephew Robin, and many, many more. (Via Tough Pigs)

? Neil Burger, who was signed to direct the Uncharted movie, no longer wants to direct an Uncharted movie. He quit, and the non-geniuses behind the outrageously mediocre National Treasure films are rewriting the script. Here’s hoping the third time is even more doomed than the second. (Via Variety)

? Ultraman is getting a redeign… at least for his new comic. It’s very… modern, which is to say considerably more complicated than the original. I kind of dig it, though. You can see more at the official website (which has a decent English section actually).

? Hugh Laurie has dropped out of Robocop, which is less upsetting now that we know the script is probably terrible. (Via Coming Soon)
? Rob Liefeld quit DC, and not in the “not burning bridges” way. He announced his departure via Twitter, and said the same thing everyone else who’s quit DC has said — that DC has no idea what’s it’s doing with the New 52. Quothe he:”I lasted a few months longer than I thought possible. Massive indecision, last minute and I mean LAST minute changes that alter everything. Editor pissing contests… No thxnjs. Last week my editor said ‘early on we had a lot of indie talent that weren’t used to re-writes and changes … made it hard.’ Uh, no, it’s you.” (Via CBR)
? Turns out Jon Snow knows a little sumpthin’-sumpthin’ — tabloids report actor Kit Harrington is dating Rose Leslie, who plays Ygritte on the show. I think I speak for nerds of all genders when I say, “Sex tape, please!” Thanks to Joseph Lex for the tip.
