Eli Wallach, RIP, and Say Hello to Bill Carson for Me

Now would actually be an appropriate time for Clint Eastwood to talk to an empty chair. Eli Wallach, the Ugly in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 98. (Not bad, Eli.)

Wallach had a long and storied career, but I’ll always remember him as Tuco, the bandit who outshone Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef in Sergio Leone’s epic Spaghetti Western.

Being a baddie or a goodie is boring. Being ugly, now that’s acting.
