Chiwetel Ejiofor Is Baron Mordo in Dr. Strange

I was never a big Dr. Strange reader, but I imagine some feathers somewhere will be ruffled by the fact that Mordo is Transylvanian, which would imply that he’s more likely to be Caucasian or Romany than black. As for me, I’ve long been a fan of the Oscar-nominated star of 12 Years a Slave, and the villain of Serenity.

So in general, I guess, this gives me a mild Heath Ledger feeling – not what I imagined, but I figure he has the goods to make it work. Ejiofor has long been rumored to take on a Marvel role – notably Black Panther, which I’m not surprised they went younger on – so I wonder if, when he arrives on set, Kevin Feige will open his mouth and say…

“Chiwie…We’re home!”
