The Walking Dead SPOILER Thread 11-11-13: Residents, Evil

Rick Grimes and friends clearly had good taste in movies pre-apocalypse…or they might have learned from the above that zombies get through eventually.
In fairness, those of us who do see those flicks are hard pressed to remember the specifics. But we certainly won’t forget the way last night’s ep ended…

“I’ve got no cash
To buy this toy
For bragging rights
To bring me joy
I had cash
but now I’m broke
My assets up in smoke
Hi-ho, I’m nerdy-o
Wanna wanna own this toy
I want rich friends to know
Nothing more would bring me joy!
I’ve got no cash
Throw up my hands
Collection’s dull
Figures be bland
If I were
Rich as can be
Hot Toys would get my money!”
Witchblade: The Odor

?
Okay. I get the ironic, kitchy appeal of the Star Trek and Cthulhu colognes. I understand a parfumerie doing a cross-promotion with a major motion picture like Iron Man to sell some more products. But why, oh why, is there a Witchblade perfume? From Comic Book Resources:
The WITCHBLADE Fragrance line
features 5ml perfume oil blends based on the characters from Top Cow’s
Witchblade series, including Witchblade (Antediluvian, sacred metal,
glowing red musk, blessed frankincense, antiqued amber),
Witchblade-bearer Sara Pezzini (Hint of leather and an understated
vintage musk layered over the scent of lightly perspiring,
honey-dusted skin), Detective Patrick Gleason (A classic men’s cologne
splashed over a leather trench coat with a hint of gunshot residue) and
the Curator (Mysterious herbs and ancient resins). The Sara Pezzini and
Witchblade scents are meant to be layered together, but can be worn
alone
Really? Detective Patrick Gleason: The Perfume? That… that just seems wrong. Even more wrong than the Witchblade fragrances smelling like anything other than “strippers.” The perfumes will be available at C2E2 in Chicago for $26.
Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Collectible
?
Mezco finally released official pics of their Scott Pilgrim action figure and… I’m not feeling it. Part of the problem is that either the image has been squished or the figure is just too thin. But I don’t know that Bryan O’Malley’s simple, stylized art is being done any favors by an articulated action figure in a basic pose. I think I would’ve preferred the treatment McFarlane gave to the Simpsons, where they made tiny dioramas of iconic scenes. Also, for soem reason the figure looks like its made out of clay to me. Oh well. Apparently Scott will come in different shirts and faces, if that makes anyone feel better. You can pre-order it here for $14.
